Where To: Lunch – The Best Lunch Spots in St. George & Southern Utah
In town for lunch? Grab the best bite!
We get it. You’re not here for the food. You’re here for the outdoors, the hikes, the amazing things you can do when you’re… not in a restaurant.
But you’ll be amazed that St. George, Washington, and all our local cities have some tremendous lunch spots, perfect for something quick & easy, or beautiful and relaxed. Finding them can be a challenge, so we’ve listed them here for you!
The breakdown: How we picked our spots
- Quality of food: We want convenience but we also want QUALITY
- Ambiance: While we love a great view, a restaurant interior can be just as important as it’s location!
- Service: Who’s dishing it up in a way that feels like friendly Southern Utah?
- Price: We’re on the hunt for bang for your buck
- Location: Our towns are small, but we still don’t want to go too far to find food…
#1: George’s Corner Restaurant
Looking for a corndog, German potato salad, a burger or a beer? George’s has you covered. You’ll find everything you’re looking for in a fusion lunch spot – perfect for dining on the patio with your pup. Plus, once you’re done, you can stroll around the local thrift shops!
#2: Cafe Sabor
If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, head to Cafe Sabor and grab an outdoor patio table upstairs. Their happy hour menu is hefty – and they serve up some of the best local margaritas. The service is always great, but you’ll likely wait a little for your table during peak hours.
#3: Tifiny’s Creperie
There are roughly 3 locations in Southern Utah to find a good crepe, and Tifiny’s is certainly one of them. Another great outdoor patio location, this spot is perfect for a ladies luncheon or family gathering. Check out the shop at the front loaded with local treats and french goodies!
#4: Irmita’s Casita
We almost don’t want to give this one away, but we must! Irmita’s serves up the best mole in town, bar none. The small outdoor seating section is only open when the weather permits, and the converted-house has no more than 10 tables inside. We recommend picking up and taking your lunch over to one of the nearby parks!
#5: Street Eats
Let’s talk tacos. Not Mexican tacos: Asian Fusion Tacos.
Street Eats has an eclectic menu of street foods, decadent fried fish and a chicken sandwich you’ll write home about. The service is super quick, so it’s the perfect lunch spot to grab & go.
#6: Cubby’s Neighborhood Cafe
Haven’t heard of it? No surprise! It’s BRAND NEW and dang delicious. The interior is massive, with large party-friendly tables and an industrial feel that reminds us of a Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Company. The portions are huge and the prices are right, so if you’re looking for a burger, fried shrimp or hush puppies: Cubby’s is that place.
#7: Morty’s Cafe
If you’re looking for a lunch spot that’s quick, easy, affordable, and delicious, we highly suggest Morty’s. Located on St. George Blvd, their simple and fresh menu is perfect for after sporting events or a quick bite before you hit the road. Pick-up or dine in and enjoy all the local artwork decorating the walls, available for purchase!
#8: Mixed Greens
Think Chipotle meets delicious and healthy bowls: Mixed Greens is a build-your-own cafeteria style restaurant. Perfect for picky eaters or anyone looking for something on the healthier side, Mixed Greens moved from a smaller location in Santa Clara to a new, updated location on St. George Blvd. Snag a table outside before they fill up!
