Elevated Steakhouse: Basalt at Black Desert Resort
If you haven't made the drive out to Black Desert Resort yet, Basalt is your excuse. This elevated steakhouse is the kind of place St. George didn't know it needed — prime-aged beef sourced regionally, sustainably caught seafood, and an atmosphere that feels genuinely special without being stuffy. Perfect for a celebration dinner or an indulgent post-hike meal when you've earned something extraordinary.
Sports Bar & Pub Fare: 20th Hole at Black Desert Resort
Same resort, completely different vibe. The 20th Hole is a 14,000-square-foot sports bar with golf simulators, oversized TVs, and booths that seat up to 12. The menu is all-American pub fare done right — think hot honey chicken fingers, the Classic Burger, and a Warm Brioche Bread Pudding that people are genuinely raving about. Lively, loud, and a blast for groups. Fair warning: if you're looking for a quiet romantic dinner, this isn't your spot. If you're looking for a great time with friends, it absolutely is.
Biscuits & Breakfast: The Biscuit Fix
This one started as a food bus, grew into a farmers market staple, and finally — finally — has a proper brick-and-mortar home on Sunset Blvd. Owner Brian Powell turned his grandmother Loydel's biscuit recipe into something St. George can't stop talking about. The O.G. (biscuit with real sausage gravy) and the Nashville Hot are the go-tos, but honestly everything on the menu is made with genuine love. Get there early — and we mean that.

European Fine Dining: Cosmopolitan Grill
Chef Imi Kun is back, and St. George is better for it. Born and trained across Europe — Hungary, Italy, Germany, France — Chef Imi brings a level of culinary craft that genuinely surprises people who aren't expecting it in Southern Utah. The menu runs from bacon-wrapped scallops and mini beef Wellington to Argentine rib eye and crème brûlée. Fine dining quality, neighborhood restaurant prices, and a chef who actually walks the floor to check on his guests. This one's a gem.

Gastropub & Craft Beer: Strap Tank Brewery
St. George's gastropub scene just got a serious upgrade. Strap Tank rolled in near the Dixie Convention Center with vintage motorcycle décor, a plane hanging from the ceiling, craft beers brewed in-house, and pub food that actually delivers. The French dip, sweet potato fries, and dry rub wings have already built a loyal following. Live music on Saturday nights seals the deal. Bonus: it's walkable from several downtown hotels, making it a natural first-night stop for visitors.

Speakeasy Bistro: Book Club Bistro
This one's hard to explain until you've been. Walk into what looks like a clothing boutique, find the bookcase, push through it, and you'll discover a speakeasy-style bistro with jazz music, audiobook ambiance, and a cocktail menu that's genuinely creative. The vibe is unlike anything else in St. George — intimate, surprising, and a little bit theatrical. Make a reservation. You won't regret it.

A solid addition to the local bar and kitchen scene, Silver Reef Craft and Kitchen brings craft cocktails and a thoughtfully put-together food menu to the mix. Great for a casual evening out with a drink in hand and something good to eat.
Greek & Mediterranean: Meraki Greek Grill
A Vegas favorite has officially made its way to Washington County — not just once, but twice. Meráki Greek Grill brings authentic Mediterranean flavors to two locations, giving both St. George and Santa Clara residents easy access to the real thing. If you've had it in Vegas you already know.
